Dear Members:
It is with great excitement that I write this letter to all of you. I want to begin by saying to you how humbled I am to be the President of a chapter with so many wonderful accomplished women. I can only hope to learn from all of you, and allow this experience to make me a better person.
My goal as president this year, is to help our chapter grow and gain more community recognition. One of the first projects that I have taken on, is to build a website for our chapter. We are currently building it and I have been gathering most of our documented chapter’s history. This website will be a work in progress and it will only become stronger as we all input information. I will be sending more detailed information once we finish inputting all of our current data.
I also would like to share information on our exciting upcoming spring fundraisers: The first one will be a “Culinary Garage Sale” scheduled on May 1st, and our second one will be a Salmon Class at Great News, on May 11th, 2010 offered by Katherine Emmenegger. My goal is that we have 100% participation on both events from our group. For the garage sale we need donations of items from your kitchens, assistance working the event; but most of all we all need to invite as many people as possible. For the Great News fundraiser, all we need to do is buy a ticket and enjoy the wonderful class; all proceeds will be donated to our chapter. I would like to express my gratitude to Katherine for her great and continuous generosity.
As you have noticed, we have more events on our calendar this year; I believe that this will give all of you more options to attend a few more events, in the months to come. I can’t reiterate how important your participation is to our chapter. Any organization is only as good and strong as the
Involvement of its members. We have all chosen to be part of this group because we believe in our cause, helping women is our goal; but we can only be successful when we have 100% participation; so I encourage all of you to partake of this opportunity to build an even more successful path for our chapter. I thank you in advance for your wisdom and your commitment towards our great cause.
Sincerely,
Maria Gomez-Laurens President of LDEI San Diego Chapter. |
